A fully parametric vacuum nozzle (crevice tool) designed for vacuum cleaners with a standard 35 mm tube diameter. Using the OpenSCAD Customizer, you can quickly adapt this attachment to your exact needs—whether you need a flat slit nozzle for tight gaps or a round step-down nozzle.

Features & Parameters

  • Connector: Default set to 35 mm with an internal stop ring to prevent the tube from sliding in too far.

  • Two Selectable Shapes:

    • rechteckig (Rectangular): Perfect for narrow slots (e.g., 10x50 mm).

    • rund (Round): Ideal for spot cleaning with a custom diameter.

  • Fully Customizable: Easily tweak wall thickness, insertion depth, transition length, and nozzle dimensions directly inside OpenSCAD.

Design Story & Vibe Coding

This model was created during an iterative "Vibe Coding" session with AI support:

  1. Concept & Prototype: Started with the need for a custom nozzle designed specifically for a 10x50 mm slot.

  2. Refinement: Added an internal stop ring to ensure a solid mechanical fit on the suction tube.

  3. BOSL2 Migration: Shifted from standard OpenSCAD logic (minkowski) to the BOSL2 library to ensure precise dimensional accuracy and avoid geometric artifacts.

  4. Generalization: Expanded the code into a flexible, universal model supporting both rectangular and round geometry presets.

It took me four attempts to reach the current result. I could have managed the code without BOSL2—even without AI—after a few hours. Using the BOSL2 library, however, would have taken me several days.

How to Use in OpenSCAD Customizer

  1. Open the .scad file in OpenSCAD (make sure the BOSL2 library is installed).

  2. Enable the Customizer via View -> Customizer.

  3. Choose either "rechteckig" or "rund" under aufsatz_form.

  4. Adjust parameters such as schlitz_breite or rohr_durchmesser to match your requirements.

  5. Press F6 to render and F7 to export your STL file.

Print Settings

  • Orientation: Print vertically (connector opening face-down on the build plate).

  • Material: PETG or ASA recommended for durability; PLA works fine for general household use.

  • Supports: I add some organic support in the middle

  • Walls/Infill: 3–4 perimeters for strength, 15–20% infill.
