A one-piece holder that lets a Seeed Studio SenseCAP Solar Node P1 (or P1-Pro) live horizontally on a balcony railing instead of a wall or a mast.

WHY THIS PART EXISTS

The Solar Node P1 is built to be bolted to a wall or clamped to a mast. On a balcony you usually have neither - but you do have a railing. This mount turns that railing into a mount point:

  • the open cradle seats onto the round railing tube and centres itself

  • the full length of the cradle rides along the rail, so the load is spread over roughly 90 mm instead of hanging off a single point

  • the flat back face is your mounting interface for the node's bracket or panel

  • four through-slots take a cable tie, strap or antenna clamps to lock the holder onto the rail and to keep the drop cable tidy

SPECS

  • Holes are vor M6 screws

  • The SenseCAP screw holes are not square - you can only use this in a horizontal setup

  • The rail diameter is designed this for is about 33mm.

PRINT SETTINGS

  • Layer height: 0.25 mm

  • Perimeters: 4

  • Infill: 20 % gyroid

  • Solid layers: 3 bottom / 4 top

  • Supports: auto, snug, 40 degree threshold

  • Brim: none

  • Material: I used PETG since it grips well at the railing and is ourdoor-safe

COMPATIBILITY

Designed for the Seeed Studio SenseCAP Solar Node P1 / P1-Pro (same enclosure) and the mounting bracket provided in the package.

Printed it? Post a make - I would like to see it up on a balcony.

Happy meshing!
