Project

An insert to stack 100 fl oz (2.84 L) cans. Designed to fit within the lip of the top/bottom of the can and does not protrude from the sides. This enables stacks of cans to be flush with each other. The insert adds 3 mm to the overall height of the stack and is stackable itself when not in use.

Printing

Printing the insert will require supports. In this case support enforcers were used.

Place the Large Can Stacker Insert on the print bed peg side down. Add a cylinder support enforcer and position it around one of the circular pegs as shown in the images below. When satisfied with the size and placement, copy and paste five more and place them around the other pegs.

These supports will of course help with the bridging needed but also keep the pegs from shifting during printing until they are attached to the body of the insert.

Durability

These inserts have been in use for 2.5 years in a small commercial kitchen and have yet to break. Only one insert has taken damaged as shown below.

Warning / Disclaimer

Only used to stack three cans high. Not tested over that. Always place heavy cans on the bottom shelf for safety. Insert helps keep cans stacked but does NOT lock them in place.
