As an engineer, I am anal retentive and spacing in my closet is something I have long wanted to tame the chaos of. I have tried some off the shelf items, but none offered a strict adherence to spacing, so I designed one that would.

We got our closets redone and it has a rounded rectangle style bar, this design provides a slip on spacer that won't twist.

Testing with my machine and my bar (Fusion file parameters should be easily adapted for you) proved it was a snug fit, but is not a friction/press fit nor did it compromise the plastic component on installation.

Prerequisites:

  • A closet bar with two flat sides and a rounded top (the rounding can be adapted in the Fusion 360 file sketch, is a parameter)
  • Determine number of items needed:

Print Recommendations: Place the flat face on the build surface, extending the body/bodies upward, without supports. The rounded cutout is only at 45 degrees, assuming your printer is properly tuned, you should be able to handle that angle without supports.

Measuring Warning: if you have protruding holders for the bar, measure from the edges of those protrusions instead of the entirety of the bar.
