A tool used to hold the bolt of a field-stripped .22LR HK MP5 open while cleaning. A more reliable solution than using the internal bolt catch — no more bolt bite on your poor little fingers whilst trying to clean your dirty girl!

The tool sits in the slot in the bolt carrier above the bolt and has a secondary retention clip that snaps over the upper forward indexing pin of the bolt carrier which keeps the bolt held securely to the rear/in the open position to facilitate cleaning.

Print Recommendations:

  • Nozzle: 0.4-0.6mm
  • Layer Height: 0.2-0.3mm
  • Perimeters: 3
  • Infill: 15%; your favorite pattern
  • Material: PETG or PLA

How to use:

  1. Slide the narrow end of the tool into the slot on the top of the bolt carrier in front of the bolt.
  2. Using the tool, push the bolt back until the front lug of the tool drops into the slot.
  3. Push the retaining clip over the upper indexing pin at the front of the bolt carrier until it snaps into place.
  4. Clean your internals with peace of mind, knowing you won't accidentally bump the internal bolt catch and send that bolt home on your fingers or cleaning instruments.
  5. Removal is the opposite of installation.

See photos for installation sequence.
