I didn't want to buy an overpriced G4 socket for my Lack enclosure so I just made one.

For lighting my Lack enclosure I wanted to use the spare G4 LED bulbs I had laying around. I had these bulbs: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00TTEUGU2

The socket might require removing of the rim for other bulbs as the G4 socket is flat normally.

For contact pins I used ferrules where I removed the plastic cover. They have been pushed in from the bottom. The design is slightly angled. With a little bent on the pin of the bulb, I have a solid contact.

The top I've inserted a cable with ferrules from the side and carefully soldered the ferrules at a 90 degree angle. I printed in PLA. It started to melt a little during soldering (330⁰C) but made contact with the correct part before being short circuit.

BOM
  • M3x20 Wood Screw
  • 4x ferrules with a outer diameter of about 1.9mm
