Clamp the digital pitch gauge to the control surface of your airplane and you can set the throws of the control surface exactly (via your digital RC transmitter servo end points or dual rates). Set to zero in neutral position. I have put adhesive rubber mat to the contact surfaces for better friction and to protect the RC model. You need two M3 screws and nuts - fasten one (that is closer to the gauge) hard and let the other loose so that they can align perfectly with the control surface. The prototype was successfully printed in PLA but other materials will probably do too.
