Its an adapter that fits over your throttle switch. It gives you a second thumb location to push on. I found the original location to be way too low for someone as tall as me. This makes it more convenient to hold down on long trips. It does not block the original thumb position. It just gives you another one.
No tools required. Just push it over your throttle and it will hold on with spring tension. You can remove it just by pulling hard on it.
I cannot guarantee the safety of this adapter. So far its been working out for me though. It does not block the original throttle so its probably fairly safe. Just be aware it has not undergone extensive testing. I've driven with it perhaps 200 miles so far.
I printed mine from ABS, which is quite springy. Other materials maybe not so much. All I know for sure is it works fine with ABS. Make sure you print it with supports because otherwise the overhang will be too long.
