This design will allow this ¼" thumbwheel ratchet (and perhaps others) to be housed in a plastic socket set case, presuming there's room for it someplace. It has retaining tabs to keep it from falling out and a slot to get a finger in behind it. Wanted to try it out for a couple years before sharing it, and it seems to work well.
Print as oriented so the retaining arms can flex without breaking. Requires supports. I printed mine in PLA and it has held up, but if you store your tool set someplace that gets hot, PETG or ABS would be better choices. I modeled it with a groove for the case's plastic to fit into once a hole is cut, but you could glue it instead if you prefer.
