The inspiration was an aluminium vacuum cleaner tube I picked up from a bin one day… I wanted a reel holder and dehumidifier but I have a few reels of 2kg recycled filament, and most will not fit that large reel. Once I found the big airtight container it came together easily.
In addition to the printed parts you will need:
8mm rod - steel, aluminium, material not critical
Bowden tube fittings, I used 6mm thread fittings
608 size skateboard bearings
Nut to fit your bowden ftting
3 x 8mm teflon washers
Silica gel, loose
Airtight container, 12.5 litre Decor Tellfresh
(optional) temperature and humidity sensor
If you don't have a vacuum tube to cut up and reuse just remix the "tube bearing housing" part to fit the tube you do have. Some PVC plumbing pipe would work well.
