My wife hated the SD01 because it is too bulky and heavy. Then I watched a video about ISE Alien light … of course, why not use two of our backup lights as a single primary! The burn time of SD05 is plenty for our dives. The beam of SD05 is even narrower than that of SD01 which is great for communication. And as a bonus there is built-in redundancy.
It is designed around the same base and grip as the original SD05 handle. You will need:
3x M5x25 stainless steel hex bolt
3x M5 washer (OD at least 17mm)
A thread needs to be cut in the base and the top part. For details see https://www.printables.com/model/85131-goodman-handle-for-sofirn-sd01
There is also a key to help with disassembly. It allows to remove the lights with the grip in place.
