Overview

I am most of the way through building the scope. I used some extra carbon fiber rods for support lengthwise, but anything that will slide into a 10mm hole would do fine. A lot of heat set inserts and various hardware are required for assembly.

Considerations

Here I will include some thoughts about the difficulty of constructing/designing the scope and most likely some reasoning behind my chosen parts.

Mirror Selection

The selected mirror set from below is absolutely not required, but was chosen due to my belief that Agena would not sell a spherical mirror as parabolic. It's certainly more expensive than I have found on Ebay, but after my last experience with a spherical telescope, I wanted to be sure. (Spherical Mirrors Require Additional Elements)

Fasteners

I have not included heat set inserts/fasteners for simplicity. Currently I have only tested the assembly of the main tube, which seemed to work very well with my hardware.  Heat set inserts use mostly 3mm, 4mm, and 8mm holes.

Assembly

I have not tested the focuser, primary adjustment, or the secondary mount or adjustment.

Mount

Currently the mount rotates over the base plate with 10 bearings that are each supported my an M4 threaded insert and M4 bolt. The other axis is supported by two flanged bearings, and two M8 knobs to lock them down.
