Assembly

Bolt hinge joints

Before assembly, insert the the Nylon lock nuts into the holes provided - you can use small pieces of tape to keep them in place before your insert the bolts.

Correct Handle orientation - before adding the bolts through the Handle, make sure that  when it's in the closed position the ridge lines of the Handle are pointing to the OUTSIDE of the collar!

Gluing the Grip pads

IMPORTANT: Before gluing the Grip pads to the collar, test them out on a barbell to make sure they have suitable clamping force! You may need to decrease/increase their thickness and/or use a different hardness TPU.

  1. Wrap a thin layer of the kitchen wax paper around a barbell and secure in place at both ends with the tape.
  2. Rough up the Grip pads and their slot on the inside of the Collar with 80 grit sand paper.
  3. Apply glue to the slots on the inside of the Collar.
  4. Slide the Grip pads into the slots.
  5. Carefully slide the collar onto the barbell with the wax paper, and then clamp it down with the quick release handle - the Grip pads will mold themselves to fit the barbell and collar.
  6. Wait for the glue to dry.
  7. Release the collar and remove the wax paper.
