This tire checker can be added to a vehicle keychain, for a quick check of the tire tread depth. If you expect to drive in dirt/gravel roads, 3mm should give you a warning for replacement. There's a narrower 3mm end for narrow treads.
PETG or Nylon are recommended, since it's intended to be used outdoors.
