I designed this Raspberry 7 inch touch display design housing for my piCorePlayer project.

Therefore the back plate can be populated with:

  • micro-USB break out board (two different sizes are possible)
  • two cinch sockets for audio output
  • an RJ45 keystone socket for an ethernet connection

Under the front side you can find a cut out for an TSOP4836 or similar infrared receiver. On the back of the display frame is a cutout for a rocker switch. Be careful, you have to cut the switch soldering contacts. Otherwise they can be shorted by the display metal shielding.

I completed  my setup with an raspberrypi2, an wifi usb dongle  and an audio hat.

You will need:

  • your raspberrypi electronics with display and audio device
  • TSOP4836infrared receiver
  • marquard rocker switch 1801.2106 or similar
  • 2 cinch sockets (reichelt cbgis)
  • micro USB break out board (reichelt DEBO MICROUSB 2)
  • rj45 keystone module
  • wiring
  • 4 M3 screws to bolt the body and frame to the display
  • 2 2.8x5 countersunk self tapping screws for attaching the back panel
  • 2 2.2x5 countersunk self tapping screws for attaching the bottom lid
  • 2 2.2x8 self tapping screws for attaching USB break out board
  • 4 rubber or foam feet

Printing the main part is little bit tricky because of warping. So you have to use brim at least for that part.

There is enough room for changes. Feel free to tweak the messy OpenSCAD file to suit your needs.

Have fun!
