Most power tools come with different batteries. In order to avoid waste it is a good DIY habit to create adapters and avoid buying new batteries just because of the individual connectors. This part is therefore an attempt to connect to a battery.

The battery L1220

Battery specs:

Probably the 3D model of the battery, see files, itself is more useful for others than my special adapter.

The Adapter

The upper part of the adapter just holds the battery. As I just modeled the lower 40mm of the battery and not the upper “locking” part, this is also missing in my adapter.

(The print quality in the bottom is not good … but good enough. The uploaded file has 0.8 mm thickness, my print only 0.4 mm…)

The lower part of the adapter is used to insert the necessary pins for the 12V battery pins. I modeled U shaped channels for the cable ties.

Print and Assembly Instructions

Print the adapter in the final orientation and use support from the bed. (PLA, 15 % gyroid infill)

Take two push connectors and bend them by 90° upwards.

Connect them to a cable. Slide three cable ties through the U shaped channels in the bottom.

Insert the battery from below to have the perfect orientation for the connectors. Add some hot glue between the connectors and the adapter.

Thighten the cable ties and add more hot glue to fix everything.

After the hot glue is cooled down, turn the adapter around and clean possibly dripped hot glue from the battery.
