I put a 330gal IBC tote (or maybe 275, I can't remember) for water storage at my property.  Of course, I did not want it to get stagnant.  I put a pump in for moving the water, and then just made a valve setup so when I'm not there, the pump will run on a timer every few hours to cycle the water through this aerator and keep the water moving a little bit.  So far it's done pretty good.

You drill a hole in the top of your cistern and put this in, then discharge of the pump goes to the top where I have a ½" barb fitting for vinyl tubing.

Made from PETG but you can do PLA if your cistern is inside like mine.  Message me if you want the fusion 360 files.
