This model is to allow 2x E 16-x sized Estes rockets to be mounted to an FS Racing 1/7th scale GT RC car.

The ignition system is designed to replace the handbrake feature of the car, so instead of the servo activating the handbrake if fires the rockets.

The Servo_Switch_Mount part, mounts using the standard servo mounts with slightly longer screws to make up for the extra thickness, the multiple holes on the left are to allow the Microswitch_mount part to move around and allows for the microswitch to move around and get lined up to enable the servo to trigger the microswitch.

The Microswitch_mount part allows the microswitch to move around and line up better with the servo horn. A screw is used in the servo horn to trigger the microswitch.

The 2 holes to the right on the servo are 1 for a safety switch, which allows the servo and microswitch be tested prior to firing the enginess without supplying the power to actually fire the engines. Once the igniters are in place and wired up, the switch should only be enabled when the car is ready to go out for it's run and the engines will be fired. The 2nd hole is to mount an LED so that you can tell the system is armed. This can be mounted else where on the car if it's deemed more appropriate.

The complete rocket engine mount can be assembled pryor to being fitted to the car. The reason the Rocket_Mount_Exhaust part is ducting the front of the rocket engine back to the slotted exhaust ports is so that the parachute release blast from the rocket is exhausted outside the card letting you know the parachute blast has occured and also gives a bit of a cool cloud of white powder exiting the car.

One of the images attached shows the screws required to assemble the rocket mounts, #1 and #4 screws are to attached the rocket mount to the car and require that the screws where #1 screws are going into are removed first.

The screw parts list for the rocket engine mount is as follows:

#1 - 2 x M3x30mm cap/square head (need to confirm length, either 25 or 30 should do nicely)
#2 - 12 x M3x8mm cap/square head
#3 - 4 x M3x15mm cap/square head
#4 - 8 x M3x18mm cap/square head (M3x20 shoudl do also)

All the little spacer/donuts in the models are different diameter “plungers” if required to fine tune the pushing of the microswitch, they can be screwed to the screw on the servo horn to take up any slack when things just don't quite line up.

The rocket engines are slightly smaller then the tubes they fit in, and I used a small amount of loom tape (cloth tape) wraped around a small section of the engine just thick enough to hold the engines in place, you don't need much just enough to stop the enginess falling out. Your rockets might be different, adjust as needed.

Video of the car in action can be seen here:

These rockets are quite dangerous so do your research on how best to use them safely and how to trigger them, information is all out there and easy to find on rocket sites and groups.

I'm purposefully not including my wiring diagram as it could be extremely dangerous if not wired correctly and tested thouroughly.

Enjoy
