system for mounting your U Lock to a cargo rack for a bike. you will probably need to modify the rack/shackle/cylinder diameter and spacing lengths to fit your lock. (I've included the STLs that are specific to the master lock U-Lock that I have).

for using the parametric model, the important terms are:

Shackle - this is the bend rod of metal that forms the U.

Cylinder - this is the Cylinder that holds the locking mechanism, and the place where the shackle locks into.

for using the parametric model, the important parameters are:

gapSize - this controls the distance from the rack mount center to the center of the items mount (i.e. distance from the rack to the shackle). you might need to fiddle with this based on the width of the shackle

rackTubeDiameter - this is the diameter of the tube that the mount will lock into on your cargo rack.

shackleDiameter - this is the diameter of the shackle. Note: probably give yourself .1 - .25 mm of tolerance here because your bike lock expands or contracts at different rates than PLA in different temperatures.

CylinderDiameter - this is the diameter of the cylinder. Note: your cylinder is going to need to slide into this hole. the place where the Shackle locks into the Cylinder usually has some bushing around it make sure to include that in your measurements.

rackOpeningFraction - This controls how big the locking collars opening is. right now its set at .5 (it can go from 0 - 1). you shouldn't need to touch this but if you need the locking collar to be more/less open you can adjust this.

depth - this controls how long the parts are.

Printing Instructions:

Print one shackle holder, and one cylinder holder (make sure you size them correctly).

I used PLA, at 1.5mm wall thickness there shouldn't really be any infill, also it should only need supports around the locking collar holes (I used organic supports and they were easy to get off). make sure to turn the model on its side so that the big openings don't need supports.

Assembly Instructions:

Take your cylinder holder and either snap it on at the very front (close to your seat), or at the very back of the cargo rack. put the shackle holder somewhere on the side of the rack. then get some 5m screws/nuts and tighten down on the locking collar (I wouldn't get them so tight that it can't move, but I would get them to the point where its difficult for them to move).

to mount the lock first slide the cylinder through the cylinder holder, then slide the shackle through the shackle holder, then mate the shackle with the lock
