The side air conditioning vents in my old beast had become brittle with heat and age and deteriorated. I dismantled the vent units and found both the vertical and horizontal guides needed to be rebuilt.
Being unable to find an existing model, I had to make my own. This still need a little improvement as it is straight and the guide requires a slight bend, but since I am still learning how to use CAD software as well, I chose to make this fit perfectly by applying a small amount of heat with a heat gun to the PLA printed part while reassembling the vent.
Sure beat paying $243+ per vent for an aftermarket part.
