Marlin spike / lacing needle combo

I've made similar tools before. This one is the first to include a 3d printed part.

The steel is an 8mm rod, reclaimed from a laser printer toner cassette. The needle is shaped in a drill using an angle grinder. The end is then drilled and tapped to M6.

A small piece of copper pipe is cut and fitted with a ground down M6 hex bolt in one end. Soldered together after fitting.

The copper part is then inserted in the 3D-printed handle with a little bit of super glue.

The handle is finally covered with a turks head using a 2mm polyester-silk line.
