This is a remix of Maurice's Lazy Kate Base to allow for an easier print with less support materials.
NOTE: If this remix was helpful please support Maurice and check out their website www.dreamingrobots.com
This remix changes the base.stl of the original model to separate the main body from the tension arms. This allowing you to print the base flat and reduces the amount of supports needed. You must print the tension inserts separately and then assemble them yourself.
The print orientations are correct and the .bgcode and .3MF files include the supports I found successful.
Instructions:
- Print 1 Lazy Kate Base (with supports added to overhang)
- Print 4 tension inserts
- Snap the 4 tension inserts into the Lazy Kate Base from the bottom (Optionally add a dab of adhesive, before securing)
Tip: Snapping the inserts into the base might take some force. Focus on end first, then concentrate your force on snapping the other end into place.
Print Settings
These are the print settings I used:
- Printer: Prusa MK4
- Nozzle: 0.4mm
- Layer Height: .2mm (Quality)
- Supports for Lazy Kate Base on overhang only
- Note: Automatic painting adds unnecessary supports to threaded insert
- Filament: PLA (MatterHacker)
