This is mostly a multipurpose base on which you can build a lot of stuff in order to have a third hand / helper for your workshop or soldering station.

The base houses a 1kg weight disc so it can have proper weight holding it on the table. it has 5 holes on the top plate which can serve various purposes. I used mine with the following:

I basically disassembled the cheap third hand and took the flexible arm with the magnifying glass and LEDs and connected them to a USB PCB (you can use any you like as long as you match the cutout). This way I can connect a magnetic adapter that I use to charge all my desk peripherals and the LED will power from it.

The weight disc size is a standard one for 1kg:

  • inner hole diameter: 30mm
  • outer diameter: 137mm
  • height: 14mm

Huge thanks to SunShine and Max3D for their designs which I included as a feature in my multipurpose tool.
