For the Contest: Lab accessories for MSF.

This is a test tube rack that can hold 6 or 8 test tubes.

Print 2 off End Supports

This print uses a nifty slicer hack in PrusaSlicer to get the cool hexagonal pattern using infill material settings. The type of filament is not important, I used PETG.

Print Settings for file: “TT Stand Side.3mf”

Keep the 2 bodies in the same positions relative to each other.

Body 1 - Flat Back:

  • top: 0 layers
  • bottom: 0 layers
  • walls: 7 layers
  • Infill: 10% Honeycomb

Body 2 - Rail Support:

  • Infill: 100%

When you slice this file, PrusaSlicer will give you a GCode warning that the paths conflict. Don't worry, it prints just fine as the photos show.

2 Rails - Top & Bottom

There are 2 options, the 6 Test Tube support prints on regular size desktop printers, the 8 Test Tube support prints on XL printers. The 2 beams can be 3D printed with generic settings 20% infill, no support, any filament is fine.

I made mine from Sapele wood and treated them with Danish oil.
