This is an adapter for quickly mounting classic style poro binoculars to Arca style tripod head. It works by clamping onto the center hinge axle, so it will only work with those that have the axle exposed. I have tested it with several binoculars. However, the only Arca clamp I have is an Oben miniature ball head. If you encounter issues, comment on the design and I will consider updating it.
The main part is provided in two variants. Type A is meant to be printed horizontally, for greater strength. The threaded fork will need supports. I used 7 perimeters, and 0.15mm layer height.
Type B is meant to be printed upright. The part will probably be weaker due to layer orientation, but the threads will come out cleaner and no supports are needed. If you go this route, layer adhesion is critical, so chose your material and settings carefully. Be sure to add two M3x4mm socket head screws to the bottom. These help keep the adapter from sliding out of a loose clamp by mistake. I used 8 perimeters, and 0.15mm layer height.
The pusher and nut should be printed upside down. I recommend three perimeters. You will probably want an M3 socket screw to hold them together but it isn't absolutely necessary. A tap may be helpful to clean up the threads.
Please use your own judgment and decide if the model is right for you! I can't be responsible if it breaks and drops your Nikon EII or whatever! With that said, I am using Duramic PLA+ for the main body, and I feel pretty good about it.
