Want to bring your mountain bike with you everywhere?
Well, now you can! These mini Mountain bikes have fully functioning suspension and are durable enough for everyday finger biking. The build is decently hard but well worth it.
Single Crown Fork Additional Required Parts and Assembly:
-2.5mm Aluminum Rod: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09W5ZY8QT?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4&th=1
-JB Weld Plastic Bonder
Assembly for single crown forks:
Use the JB Weld Plastic Bonder to attach a 2.5mm rod to the upper crown, use lots of glue and I would recommend sanding the aluminum rod so it bonds better
Cut the stanchions to 30mm and attach a spring to each
glue the stanchions into the upper crown
Slide the lowers on and use hot glue to bond the end of the springs to the bottom of the lowers(watch normal assembly video, process is similar)
Superglue the fork boots to the bottom of the lowers(look more like triangles now)
Tools Required:
- Hot Glue Gun
- Super glue
Materials Required:
-This Spring Pack contains the best sizes, some version 2 bikes require the springs in this like the Pivot and the Bonnell(and is the cheapest): https://www.amazon.com/CREEYA-Compression-Assortment-Different-Stainless/dp/B08KD5Q2P7
OR
- 1 Spring from Pilot G2 pen(or similar): https://www.amazon.com/Pilot-Retractable-Premium-Roller-31020/dp/B001GAOTSW/
- 2 Springs from Uniball 207 Plus+(or Similar): https://www.amazon.com/uni-ball-Retractable-Black-0-7mm-Medium/dp/B0B4BJR5X3/
- 1 Storebought Smore Stick(these should work but I have not tested): https://www.amazon.com/NadaKin-Marshmallow-Roasting-Skewers-Barbecue/dp/B083VRLMKJ/
- 1 paper straw
- 2 barbeque skewers: amazon.com/dp/B0BTV44SQ7?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1
OR
-Several Toothpicks(Not as smooth but can work)
Assembly Instructions:
1. Glue the front triangle frame halves together with a small amount of super glue. Be careful around the small hole at the bottom bracket, this hole should not have any glue bleed into it. If any does, use the point of the thin barbecue skewer to get it out.
2. Superglue the wheel halves together, again, prevent glue from going into the small holes in the hub.
3. On the rear triangle halves, there is a small half circle; place glue on the two ends of this and connect them together, place a wheel near the axle side in order to provide proper spacing while they dry
4. Superglue the 2 smaller glasses brackets to the top and bottom of the steerer tube on the front triangle
5. Glue a about 1.5-inch piece of smore stick(Changes depending on your springs) to each side of the steerer tube through the glasses brackets, use lots of super glue to secure these to the sides of the steerer tube.
6. Cut 2 about 1.1-inch sections of the paper straw(Changes depending on your springs) and press them into the two larger glasses brackets, secure them with a small amount of super glue.
7. Use 2 thin springs from the Uniball pens and glue them to the bottom of the smore stick stanchions with a small amount of hot glue. Make sure that there is no glue past the diameter of the stanchions, as this will stop the suspension from sliding smoothly
8. Press the assembly with the straw pieces over the springs and put a pea-sized amount of hot glue in the small fork boots(circular items with a cylinder going across the diameter) and press them over the springs and straws, binding the bottom of the fork together, make sure the horizontal cylinders on these are in line because they will hold the front wheel later.
9. Place the spring from the Pilot G2 pen on the rod in the middle of the front triangle; no glue is required
10. Maneuver the dried rear triangle through the frame. This may take some trial and error, position it roughly as seen in the photos with the cylinder that you glued together near the rod with the spring on it.
11. Attach a wheel to the fork with a piece of barbecue skewer through the fork boots. Attach the second wheel to the rear triangle with another piece of skewer through the holes at the back.
12. Have Fun!
