Introducing the Radial Energy junction box system.

An universal and ever growing junction box system for your custom electronic needs.

The first core component of this system is the base. An universal round enclosure with 8 cable entries with PG 13.5 threads. I've designed this system in the first place for my workshop. One of the main aspects was to make it as dustproof as possible. Therefore every opening is sealed with a thin layer of filament when printed. You can easily open the needed holes with a knife or simply push a screw through it.

It also includes a printable gasket for the lid.

The Radial Energy system is an ‘one-size-fits-all’ concept. You dont' have to think about every electrical connection in advance. Just print the base and set it up on the go as you like.

The lid has a locking mechanism built in. Just align it with the base and turn it clockwise and it will be locked. Additionally you can use 4x M3 bolts to secure it.

Screws: 4x Countersunk headscrews M3 x 15-25mm(max).

There is one version of the base for M3 threaded inserts (Ruthex) and one with 2.8mm holes to screw directly into it.

There are various adapter screws for different cable glands (with PG and M threads), Electrical Insulation Tubes (EN Sizes) and for Creative Tubes (from Creative Cables).

The adapter screws can be tightened with a 24mm wrench.

The second core component are the support frames. They're compatible with Wago connectors (221 Series), Shelly devices and other electronic devices (more on that topic in the future).

The Radial Energy system features a quick-change mechanism for the support frames. Just align the support frame in the base and turn it 5° clockwise and it's secured. And turn it in the same way counter-clockwise to remove it.

The first drop are the essential components, which most of you will use.

It also includes a support frame for the new Wago 221-420 10-way connector with a ‘snap-in’ mount.

There will be more drops with more specific support frames and items in the future.

You purchase the whole Radial Energy system just once. So there will be no extra costs for additional support frames or other addons. Every future addon will be included.

I want to build this one up as a little community project. So if you have any suggestions on new frames or other stuff like this hit me up!

1$ off of every purchase will be donated to a good cause. (More on this topic soon!)

Material recommendation:

I would recommend to use PLA or PETG for this project.

Specifically PETG V0 Prusament, which is Prusa's certified self-extinguishing PETG filament.

If you print both the base and the support frames with PLA or one with PLA and the other with PETG the standard files should work fine.

But if you want to print both in PETG the quick-change mechanism could be a little tight. For this reason i've created a modified version of every support frame with slightly bigger tolerances.

You can find them in the folders marked with ‘(+tolerances)’.

The gasket should be printed with TPU.

And as always >>> have fun printing!
