The Pi 3B/3B+ Desktop Server Case

Turn your reliable Raspberry Pi 3B into a stylish piece of home decor. This case is designed as a minimalist design object for your shelf or desk, bringing premium aesthetics to your home server setup.

A family-friendly option

With its clean lines and enclosed design, this case is aesthetic and safe enough to sit on a kitchen table or a shelf.

Why the Raspberry Pi 3B/3B+ in 2026?

Although the Raspberry Pi 3B is an older model, it remains a very affordable and powerful workhorse for many home server tasks, such as Pi-hole, lightweight web servers, home automation controllers, network monitoring, NAS devices, and more. This case gives your affordable device a sleek and modern look.

Cooling Options

  • Blower Fan: Originally for Raspberry Pi 5 (Model 3007) size: 30x30x7. More information about the connection can be found online (4-pin fan raspberry pi 3b etc.).

  • Traditional Fan: Use the alternative model or cut the hole (marked circle)

  • Passive cooling: for light server tasks, a fan may not even be necessary.

Printing Recommendations

  • Material: PETG or better material is highly recommended if your Pi runs hot or operates 24/7, as it handles heat better over time. PLA is an excellent choice for a decorative finish (especially matte or wood filaments) if the temperatures stay moderate.

  • Resolution: 0.2mm for a clean look.

  • Supports: Everywhere (see the photo for recommended placement)

How to open the case if needed

  • Pry the case open with a pencil near the USB port.

Updates & Changelog

  • 15/08/26: Flipped the orientation of Pi3B_Server_Shell_v1.stl, added a photo showing the recommended support placement, and renamed the files to remove duplicate .stl extensions.

  • 15/08/26: Added instructions for opening the case.
