3D Printed Bushing, Bearing,Seal driver set. - Designed from set pictured.
Features sizes 18-64mm 65,66,68,70,72,74,76mm and driver
How I use this item
As a heavy duty Ag tech I use this mostly to drive seals and nylon / thick steel bushings.
Have used it to drive some larger steel bushings and have had good luck so far.
Use it a lot on nylon bushings on sprayer booms
This is the second set I have printed - another set is printed out of ASA and is holding up well.
Print information
On the 18-43mm and the 45-55mm Drivers I used an 85% infill (Gyroid) because I want them to be strong
On the 56-64mm and larger I use 85% infill and switched to triangles instead of gyroid due to filament usage being far less using triangles.
Handle Driver printed at 80% infill using Gyroid infill for rigidity
After printing the handle driver and nuts to thread on it is NECESSARY to use sand paper and lightly sand the threads so drivers will smoothly fit over the end of the handle.
Also NECESSARY to use a pair of pliers to lightly force nuts onto threads for the first time. (That is by design so that the nut is not loose and allows drivers to slide off.
No supports Required
Slowed outer wall speed down on all prints to 180mm/s for higher quality ( this may not be necessary for you but works best for me)
The set pictured is printed out of PLA and I am going to start using them and compare them to the ones I have been using for around a year that are printed in ASA.
ASA ones have held up very well, have not broken any of them (mostly light to medium duty use) so far, but DO opt to use the steel driver from the original set. ( One could easily make a driver out of some thread and nuts)
Did not take the time to add text to each one of these so that the size could be printed into it or in a different color. I used a white paint marker and wrote the size as I took them off the print bed. This has worked well on my other set, occasionally I have to re-write the number on.
Tolerances and Usage
My measurements are accurate up to .05mm in the STL files, with that being said everyone's printer is a little different and material shrinkage / expansion are always factors. ( this may not be something that prints absolutely perfect, it may be necessary to do a test print to be sure it will work for you).
I will be 100% honest. I am not the biggest fan of the driver itself, at least as someone who is using it on a weekly basis, (here and there usage would be fine for). I haven't yet but know I could without a doubt break it.
May remake the driver about half the current size to get into tighter areas. Will add to files if and when I decide to do that.
Storage options for these aren't the greatest; they take up some space. I use plano boxes and a small blue tackle box I found at Walmart to store them in. A drawer of a tool box would work well, or a drawer in a service truck but not something that gets used everyday.
This is not for everyone but I hope that someone can get some use out of it. If there are any questions about the model or files please reach out!
