This is a new version of my planter from last year. I redid the model to update the look and clean up the model geometry

My grandma got a few plants as a gift. She saw an old vase mode print of the Diamond planter for the planters I made last year. She asked me for a version of it that was about 4 inches tall.

I imported the original .stl file into Blender and saw a number of things I could improve, so I decided then to make a new model of the planter. Originally, I made the original diamond planter from mirroring the planter with straight diagonal lines in FreeCad, and there are way too many extra faces in the model Some are just intersecting each other and not actually connecting. I was new to modeling in CAD software at that point, so my goal was to get a good looking, durable, and quality model for printing. It met all those goals at that point, but have learned a bit about making models in the past year or so. I know that I prefer to make most of my models have simple designs and smooth faces. Instead of modifying the current mesh of the model (which admittedly was a mess), it became my reference to remake the model.

For the main body design, I wanted to make the lines look more symmetrical. The diamond shape should reach the top and bottom evenly. I also looked at this as a reason to clean up the surface and make the pot more flexible for scaling up and down. The model went from 18,889 triangles, 18,889 faces, 28,307 edges, and 9,428 vertices of the old version to 684 triangles and 354 faces, 696 edges, and 344 vertices on this new version.

I printed mine to have 4 perimeters with no infill. You can increase or decrease perimeters to make your planter more or less durable to fit your needs.
