A specialized 3D printable tool designed to safely remove and install the chainring on the CYC Photon mid-drive e-bike motor without damaging the components.
This functional print acts as a budget-friendly alternative to expensive metal sockets by utilizing standard nuts and bolts to reinforce the plastic teeth, preventing shearing under high torque.
Hardware Requirements:
5x M4 x 12mm bolts with 5x M4 nuts (for the outer interface teeth).
(Optional but Recommended) 3x M4 x 18mm bolts with 3x M4 nuts to reinforce the center section for added durability during stubborn removals.
Print Settings:
To ensure the tool handles the torque required for bike maintenance, use heavy settings:
Perimeters / Walls: 8 (Crucial for strength around the bolt holes)
Infill: 45% or higher
Material: PETG, ABS, or tough PLA recommended for maximum rigidity.
