Stick the contact to your window? Maybe. Trying to (ab)use the sensor in a more rugged environment? Forget tape.

I was trying to use a Sonoff SNZB-04 Wireless Door/Window Sensor for my heavy sliding garage door, but sticking the contact onto a wooden frame – forget it.
Also, the tiny magnet in the original contact was way too sensitive for my use case. I wanted the sensor to trigger with a wider range.
So here you go. (This should work with pretty much any sensor, from any company, with any wireless/radio technology)
Pause the print on the last layer before the cutout gets covered and insert a 10x5x2 magnet.
In my case (0.2mm layer height) that was layer 38. The attached .3mf file includes the pause.
Two 3.5 wood screws later that thing is never coming off ever again.
I printed with Bambulab PETG HF.
This is arguably a very simple model/print, but it solves a real problem, so I thought I'd share. In the end you can probably whip up a model that fits your use case (and magnets in stock) in a few minutes. Maybe the idea helped already then :)
