My soaker hose kept bending away from where I wanted it thanks to the sun's heat, occasionally landing on my delicate seedlings, so I made these hooked soil spikes to hold it down. Now my soaker hose stays where I put it, and my seedlings are all the better for it!

Personally, I prefer the longer spikes as they stay in the ground better, but there are also shorter spikes for you to choose from, as well as single & double spike variants. The ones with longer tops are useful for covering sections of the hose that seem to have a bunch of pinholes spraying water upwards.

These spikes have an inner diameter of 8mm and will easily fit over a 3/8 inch soaker hose.

Print Settings

  • Nozzle - 0.4mm
  • Layer Height - 0.2mm (Feel free to use 0.3mm draft to print faster, the spikes are light on details anyway)
  • Material – PETG (For heat resistance & strength)
  • Infill — 15% Cubic
  • Perimeters – 2 or 3 (I've found that 2 works well enough, but you can use 3 or more for increased rigidity)
  • Top/Bottom Fill Pattern – Whatever strikes your fancy.
