If you like to add extra weight to your cardboard spools in your AMS or MMU then this is helpful accessory. Slip this into the core and add bearings, coins, nuts, or whatever you have on hand to increase the weight. Increased weight allows for the cardboard spool to function properly in the AMS.
I have been using 1.75 inch ball bearings in mine and they help a great deal. Sometimes they get hung up on the filament that is stuck in the middle to start the roll winding from the manufacturer and it jump around a bit. That is why I came up with this. It gives the spool a more centered weight and the bearing stays stable. Give it a try.
