This project allows you to convert standard cereal storage containers into practical filament dryboxes.
The printed side mounts are screwed togheter through the container wall and support a Ø20 mm axle, allowing the filament spool to rotate smoothly while printing directly from inside the container.
The design includes eccentric spacers that allow fine adjustment of the spool height to ensure compatibility with different spool designs.
A drilling jig is included to guarantee precise hole placement and simplify installation.
The project also includes a sealing plug for the original container top opening, allowing installation of a PTFE tube feed-through so filament can be printed while the lid remains fully closed, helping preserve dry storage conditions.
The system is also compatible with the spool support tube included with the Polymaker PolyDryer, allowing users to reuse existing hardware.
Designed to turn common storage containers into functional filament dryboxes using simple printed parts and easily available hardware.
