A version of my previous C64/Amiga joystick project (https://www.printables.com/model/1565145-arcade-joystick-for-c64amiga), but this time for a USB arcade stick with more buttons.

Uses a standard Sanwa stick, standard 30mm buttons for the main face buttons, four additional 24mm buttons on the front (for start/select/insert coin etc)

For the USB HID interface I used a Waveshare ESP32-S3-Zero board and the Joystick_ESP32S2 library via the Arduino IDE (Note that you specifically need an ESP32 S2/S3, not a C3/C6/H2). Have now added an example sketch.

The mount for the ESP32 board is a separate printed part, so you can replace that if using different electronics. And my initial version isn't great, requring the board to be glued into place as this board is small and has no mounting holes.

I printed it in sparkly PLA on a Bambu P1P. It was necessary to use a smooth build plate for better adhesion to prevent significant warping of the print (I also added a brim just to be sure). The baseplate will require supports for the rear clips, but the main body can be printed vertically on its rear surface with no supports. I rotated it 45 degrees on the bed to leave space for the brim. I also added enough edge loops to make the top surface solid, mostly so it won't easily deform when tightening the stick mounting bolts.

Printing the main body on a Bambu P1P, I've found that printing at 0.20mm layer height with reduced print speeds will give a cleaner result than a smaller layer height at default faster speeds.
