The Apiary series
lamp shades that are grown, not built

Inspired by the hanging, swollen, organic architecture of insect nests. Each shade in the Apiary collection carries its own silhouette: Bulb, Drop, Pod, Whorl, Hive, and Sac.

Every surface is finished with a wood-grain bump texture, so the print doesn't just look organic, it feels it too. The result isn't a 3D printed shiny plastic lamp shade, but a lampshade that couldpass for carved timber, lit from within.

Hang one, or hang all six together for a cluster that looks like it grew there.

<apologies for the terrible photos, turns out that photography of lampshades is challenging>
