SnapFrame is a lightweight magnetic photo frame designed for standard Instax Mini photos, 86 × 54 mm.

It uses two 5 × 3 mm round magnets and can be attached to refrigerators, magnetic boards, lockers, and other metal surfaces.

Only one model is required. Use it vertically to insert the photo from the top, or rotate it horizontally to insert the photo from the side.

The photo can be replaced easily without removing or disassembling the frame.

Magnets

You will need:

  • 2 round magnets

  • Diameter: 5 mm

  • Thickness: 3 mm

These magnets are easy to find online. As a price reference, I purchased a pack of 60 magnets for around €10 on Amazon.

The holes are designed to hold the magnets with a press fit. Depending on your printer tolerances, adding a very small drop of superglue is recommended for extra security.

Make sure the magnets are fully inserted and sit flush with the back of the frame.

Print information

  • Model dimensions: 70 × 93 × 4 mm

  • Filament usage: approximately 11.4 g

  • Filament length: approximately 3.83 m

  • Estimated print time: 22–27 minutes

  • Supports: not required

  • Suggested layer height: 0.20 mm

  • Suggested infill: 5–15%

  • Print orientation: flat on the build plate

The model can be printed with almost any rigid material, including:

  • PLA

  • PETG

  • ABS

  • ASA

Actual printing time and material usage may vary depending on the printer, filament, and slicer settings.

Assembly

  1. Print the frame flat on the build plate.

  2. Insert two 5 × 3 mm magnets into the rear holes.

  3. Add a tiny drop of glue when necessary.

  4. Slide an Instax Mini photo into the opening.

  5. Place the frame on your fridge or another magnetic surface.

Small magnets can be dangerous if swallowed. Keep them away from children and pets.
