Needs riser feet: the flat backplate only fits with the printer raised on riser feet; on the stock feet there is no way for the screen to sit flat. I use my rigid feet for the CC2.

What it is: a replacement back shell for the touchscreen of the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 (CC2). The stock shell is a hollow wedge that tilts the screen out from the printer. This flat backplate holds the screen flush with the printer front.

Fits: Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 (CC2) touchscreen. Unofficial part, not made or endorsed by Elegoo. Measured on my own CC2. v12 printed and fitted: it fits the screen and clicks into the printer.

Key points

  • Flush screen, nothing sticking out of the front.

  • Reuses the 6 original screws from the stock shell; no new hardware.

  • Hooks into the printer's own two slots and clicks in with a flexing tongue, like the stock shell.

  • Easy supports: the tongue support is one slab that slides out through the window; small pillars under the hook necks snap off.

  • Hooks print clean: 45 degree undersides, no flat overhang, no repair part or glue needed.

  • Size: 125.0 x 82.3 mm, 19.0 mm deep. About 29 g PLA, about 1 h 40 min on a CC2.

Parts list

  • 1 x printed backplate (cc2_flat_screen_backplate_v12_x1.stl or the 3MF)

  • 6 x original screws from the stock back shell (about 1.9 mm diameter, reused)

  • Small Phillips screwdriver

Install (about 10 minutes)

  1. Power off the printer.

  2. Release the click tab at the bottom of the stock shell and lift the screen off its two top hooks.

  3. Unplug the ribbon cable from the back of the screen, gently.

  4. Remove the 6 screws holding the stock back shell; keep them.

  5. Lay the new backplate on the screen back (flat side to the screen, hooks at the ribbon connector edge) and drive the 6 original screws in, snug, not tight.

  6. Plug the ribbon back in.

  7. Drop the two hooks into the printer's two slots and swing the bottom in until the tongue clicks.

  8. Power on and check touch.

Print settings

  • PLA or PLA+, 0.2 mm layers, 0.4 mm nozzle, 2 walls, 15 % infill

  • Screen side down (flat face on the bed); files are pre-oriented

  • Supports on: normal (auto), threshold 25 deg, "on build plate only" off, top Z distance 0.25 mm, 1 top interface layer, 0 bottom interface layers

  • Brim: outer only, 5 mm

  • After printing: slide the tongue support slab out through the window and snap off the hook pillars

The 3MF has these settings on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 0.4 nozzle profile; OrcaSlicer-based slicers can open it.
