A custom knob with an eject button hidden under a secret cap for the Thrustmaster TH8S shifter (like a certain secret agent had in several famous films). Based on the official adapter files provided by @Thrustmaster.

Designed to be assembled easily without any additional tools or glue, using snap-fitting parts and print-in-place hinges. However, the model requires the printer to be tuned to do the following reliably (nothing out of the ordinary, but still needs to be noted):

  • 20 mm unsupported bridges

  • 0.2 mm tolerances

For authentic results, use the following colors when printing:

  • knob.stl – glossy black

  • button_insert.stl, cap_insert.stl – silver

  • spring_button.stl – red

Additionally, there're 2 internal slots for 4x2mm magnets so that the lid shuts with a satisfying snap. Just add a pause before these slots are sealed off by the next layer, insert the magnets when the print pauses and proceed. This is optional - the lid will still work without magnets.

Assembly instructions (see last image for reference):

  1. Snip away the thin helper bridges on the hinge of knob.stl.

  2. Gently work the hinge of knob.stl so that it moves freely around both axes of rotation.

  3. Place spring_button.stl into the recess of the main part of knob.stl, with the button facing outward.

  4. Snap button_insert.stl into the recess on top of spring_button.stl.

  5. Snap cap_insert.stl into the recess in the cap of knob.stl.
