Remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4827340 trailer plug tester idea but approx ⅔ the size of that model. Designed to simply insert into the trailer connector/socket on your vehicle and get someone to cycle through the indicator/flasher and light functions for easy diagnosis of wiring and trailer socket issues.
The “fauxboard” file in the model is the sizing of the FR4 board you need. Print this to use as a template for trimming and drilling 4mm mount hole locations on your board as well as location/spacing of the LEDs. I used a vero board for the simple soldering the simple LEDs, resistors and trailer cable wires. The box has built-in standoffs for the board and lid so you only need to run an M4 bolt into them to form the thread.
Also included in the model is a label with wire colours that can be superglued to the bottom of the box. These are Australian standard pin numbers/colours so I've made the piece separate so you can make your own label (61x46mm) if needed.
Make the cable connection as short or as long as you want - even long enough to each into the vehicle cabin for single person diagnosis - however mine was really short to make it easier to store, and of course any plug shape - flat or round.
Parts needed once the box is printed :
1x piece Vero board approx 45x45mm
8x M4x10 bolts
6x 5mm LEDs (of your choice in brightness and colour)
6x resistors to match the LED current requirement
I used 6x red (waterclear) 2V 30mA LEDs with 330R resistors
Two lid designs included for single/manual spool change, and multi-colour prints in the same top layers
