In addition to my printer in the enclosure, I also wanted to isolate vibration through the enclosure as well. So I modified the feet for the printer box to accept a 50mm x 50mm square of sorbothane pad.
Shopping List
- Sorbothane Pad (.375in, 4in x 4in, 50 durometer).
- My rough calculations said that 50 durometer would be adequate for this application, but you do you.
- Isolate it SKU: 0204037-50-2.
- 3M double-sided adhesive tape.
- This just makes it easier to install, the pads will likely still be removable.
- 3M 9490LE (0.5" width x 5yd length).
Installation
- Cut the pads down to 50mm squares.
- Remove the old feet, but retain the fasteners.
- Install the 3M tape.
- Install the feet with the existing fastners.
- Peel the 3M tape covers.
- Peel the protective coating off the sorbothane.
- Stick the sorbothane pad to the foot.
- Repeat for the three other feet.
Tips
- Sliced file for example only. Slice to your own best standards or following Printer-Box's printing guidelines.
- You will need to choose which side up you're going to print, either direction I'd recommend using supports.
