EDIT:

AS OF TODAY 07/12/2023 THIS DESIGN IS DEPRECATED, REFER TO THE NEW VERSION IN THE REMIXES ON THIS PAGE OR AMONG MY MODELS

FIRST OF ALL: THE FAN SETUP IN THE PICTURE IS NOT WORKING AS INTENDED, SO STLs ARE NOT INCLUDED

Second of all, the front face of the housing showed in the picture is different to the model because it was and old revision.

Also, don't mind the crappy cable management in the photo, I still need to figure out some way to tidy it up that whole bunch of different lenght cables…

I started from a custom effector housing (of which i cannot find the source anymore, neither here or on Thingi, I'm sorry) which I modified to mount an Orbiter v2.0 in order to convert the printer to direct drive.

Technicalities: I printed everything (0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers) in Fiberlogy PCTG for heat resistance, with the effector housing at 100% infill, and the ducts at 10-15% but with 4 shells for enough structural strength. Nothing should require support material, the effector housing has a layer of sacrificial bridging that allows the top portion of the model to be printed without problem, provided that your printer manges to bridge the gap appropriately.

For the screws, all the original SR hardware can be reused with zero problems.

IMPORTANT: I strongly recommend to use a piece of bowden tube to guide filament from the output of the extruder, to the heatbreak through the heatsink.

STEP file attached, you're welcome to improve on it
