The 2m windturbine is a ‘proof of concept’, to prove that a windturbine with a wingspan of 2 meter and peak power of 450W can be 3D-printed with a household 3D-printer, The design is largely based on the 2F Ferrite Windturbine made by Hugh Piggot from Scoraig Wind. Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.15mm

Infill:

8%

Filament:

ASA

Notes:

We used 3 perimeters of 0,7mm, but less might work too (0,6 up to 0,5mm).

Make sure you are accustomed printing larges pieces as these warp and loosen from the bed easily. A heated chamber made from cardboard helped us raising the temperature to 30-35°C.

Post-Printing =============

Chemical welding the parts together, winding copper, and much more. Check the build instructions at http://www.fromwastetowind.com/how-to-build-the-2m-pla-windturbine/

How I Designed This ===================

The design is largely based on the 2F Ferrite Windturbine made by Hugh Piggot from Scoraig Wind: https://scoraigwind.co.uk/2014/08/ferrite-magnet-wind-turbine-plans-books-printed-out/

I made a few adaptations: the blade root is wider because 3D-printing makes that the extra material cost is low. Also the magnets are spaced wider apart for increased strength.
