Updated Repair Kit Version 2
This version ensures full compatibility with the new plates currently supplied with SOVOL SV08 printers. Additionally, a special hole has been added for proper operation on SV08 MAX and, theoretically, SV08 Zero models (I have no way to test this please report any issues that arise).
Important: The original plate's geometry was optimized by the manufacturer for injection molding. My version has been completely redesigned from scratch and adapted specifically for 3D printing, focusing on strength and printability.
The kit consists of two parts:
Head Mounting Plate: Optimized for increased stiffness. The internal stiffening rib is designed to contact the walls of the mounting holes, as shown in the image below. Must be printed strictly in ABS/ASA. Using PETG or PLA is unacceptable.
Crown Gear (Insert): This is a standalone component, printed in nylon (PA6) with a 0.2mm nozzle for durability. Design improvements have been added to minimize printing deformation. Using ABS for this gear is not recommended, as its lifespan will be shorter than the factory part.
For assembly you will need:
3x Heat-set (threaded) inserts for M3 screws.
1x or 2x Heat-set (threaded) inserts for M2 screws (depending on your printer model).
Lifespan and Maintenance:
Testing has shown that without regular lubrication replenishment, the factory plate lasts about 300 hours before failing. Regular lubrication replacement extends the service life several times over (on the test assembly—over 700 hours with no signs of wear).
Lubricant: I use the common CIS-region lubricant Tsiatim-221F. It is likely unavailable in your country, so you will need to find a high-quality alternative (a consistent grease for highly loaded components).
Printing Tips:
If your printer handles overhangs poorly, you can use supports under the motor housing area on the plate. I managed to print it without them.
Holes in the model are closed with additional structural elements—these must be carefully removed after printing.
