A little coach that looks proportionally correct next to 1:20.1 scale models!
This is not scale, nor do I claim it to be! (I just don't like G-Gauge, as that term is technically incorrect)
(When I say proportionally correct, I mean it looks to be a good height next to 20.1 models, but if you take a scale ruler to it the under-sizing becomes quite apparent. I scaled this to the Bachmann Big Haulers porter, which is a scale twelve feet tall. Actual 22.5 scale figures barely fit on the platforms! You have been warned.)
You'll have to source bogies from elsewhere, but this was designed with standard LGB arch-bars in mind.
Prints support free, but brims may be needed to prevent the larger parts from warping…
Minimum print volume: 100mm X 82mm X 234mm
This is an expensive print! The body alone took me ~250g of filament & 13 hours to print! You have been warned…
(Extra types of coach are included!)
Assembly
Print out all parts in specified amounts
Attach the handrails onto the chassis. Do this twice! (They are asymmetrical, so be careful! The bent part of the railing is indented, & this should face out)
Put both half-chassis parts onto the bottom of the body, & screw into place.
If using body-mount couplers, add them now. Make sure you don't pierce the platforms!
Add trucks & wheels.
Slot on the roof halves & you're done! (Make sure the smoke-jack is over the stove!)
Non-3D printed materials list
16-22 screws - 8 to hold body, 4 for the end-railings, 2 to mount trucks, & 2-4 to attach couplers. I used leftover #4 x 3/4" screws from Kadee.
Kadee 830 or equivalent coupler. (Mounting pads are built into the chassis. Body mounting will work even on R1 curves)
Trucks/bogies (I have made a 3D-printable version!)
