Printable hinge for Dollar Tree Foam board R/C airplanes (or equivalent 3/16" / 4.7 mm thickness materials). Uses a 1 mm pultruded carbon rod as a hinge pin. The designs accommodate deflections of more than 50 degrees in both directions.
Both sides of the hinge use the same part without modification – you can just print two copies of the exact same stl and then rotate one of them around 180 degrees. The hinge pattern repeats every 25 mm, with the initial hinge loop at 6.25 mm from the start. The tabs extend into the foam board providing a secure glue bond.
Both a centerline hinge and an offset hinge design are provided in a range of lengths. A cutting template is included in the files.
