Designed for outdoor durability and acoustic clarity, this model is created for the wind chimes contest. Optimized for functional use. The geometry utilizes PETG filament properties to balance structural rigidity with harmonic resonance.

Print Settings

  • Material: PETG (a mix of materials and colors would likely look / sound great)

  • Infill: 15% - 20% Gyroid or Adaptive Cubic

  • Layer Height: 0.20mm

  • Perimeters: 3 (alternate extra) walls for added strength against the wind

  • Supports: None required for the hanger, striker, and bottom wind catch.

Assembly & Tuning Instructions

  1. Hanger: Suspend the main structure using a durable cord through equally threaded to each three external holes.

  2. Tubes (TUBE 1, TUBE 2, TUBE 3): Thread the hanging strings through the top hanger and attach the tubes with even spacing. Adding tubes - scale extra tubes and hang them around.

  3. Striker & Wind Catch: Tie the striker directly down center, and attach the bottom wind catch below the striker.

  4. Notable Note: pictured i hung the top string to suspend centered, but equal length to each three outer points is better balanced

Next Steps - I want to print PETG CF and see if the sound is different.

Extra Goal - Would be really cool to print from nylon cf or similar - ideas?
