This is a Hurst T-Shifter themed  Light Switch Cover.  This shifter was used (or added) to many classic hot-rod cars from the 1960's and 1970's, and also gets use in more modern vehicles, such as manual transmission equipped Jeeps and Miatas.

I printed the plate in Elegoo PLA+ and used a carbon-fiber textured build plate for the CF effect.  The boot was printed in TPU-95, and the stick in PETG-CF, oriented on the bottom chamfer to print at 45 degrees.  This oriented the layers for strength.

The T-handle was printed in PETG, adding pauses to change colors to mimic the original Hurst product as follows:

The T-handle features an embossed HURST logo at different layer heights.
To achieve a multi-color effect with a single extruder:

  1. Slice the model as usual

  2. Add pause(s) at the layer(s) where the logo height changes

  3. Swap filament colors at each pause

  4. Resume printing

An M3mm x 2mm long heat-set insert was added to the stick to secure to the light switch toggle.  Depending on your light switch, you may have to adjust the length accordingly as Eaton, Leviton, Lutron, and Legrand vary somewhat.

The boot may require a few drops of cement to secure to the back recessed area of the plate.

The handle should lightly press-fit to the stick.  Depending on materials used and other printing variables, you may need to shim or use a light adhesive to secure.
