Remix of a model by N7TRX. Stealing some of their formatting and wording, as well. Still does not require any supports.

In order to use the internal mount for the bluetooth antenna, you have to remove the adhesive foam from the antenna, then slide it in. The internal antennae have to be installed in specific orientations, for everything to fit. See the "everything..." STP file, for intended orientations of components.

That STEP file is a version of the model with ALL of the features and board model files, to help with understanding how this all goes together. Board models are direct from RAK Wireless. Antenna model is from grabcad I did not modify any of those models. I was only using them for reference.

Battery: Standard size 103450 li-ion with 2mm pitch JST. Remember to check the polarity before plugging in, you can easily swap the wires in the plug if they are wrong. The battery pigtail should be at least as long as the battery.

Radio kit: The intended radio kit is the RAKwireless Mini Meshtastic Starter Kit US915 RAK19003 + 4631 found here: Rokland link

Hardware: All hardware needed is included in the radio kit.

There are 6 STEP files, all of which have a matching STL, except the "everything...":

  • "everything" which is just for reference.

  • "case" that will work with all core designs.

  • 4 cores, covering all combinations:

    • With & without holes

    • Internal & external LoRa antenna

Please print in a material that has good layer adhesion, its only 2 walls. I like ASA, because I'm in a place that gets very hot, and PETG has warped on me. Avoid using carbon fiber reinforced materials as it may result in some signal attenuation to the internal Bluetooth antenna (untested). Glass fiber should be fine.
